Pack Adventure: Flatirons North & Prairie Vista Loop Trail
Join us for a beautiful loop hike at the base of Boulder’s iconic Flatirons! The Flatirons North and Prairie Vista Loop Trail combines sweeping meadow views, gentle rolling hills, and close-up views of the dramatic sandstone formations that make Boulder famous. This is a great outing for dogs who benefit from moderate exercise, steady exposure, and calm training time in a scenic setting.
📍 Location: Flatirons North & Prairie Vista Loop Trail – Meet at Chautauqua Park Trailhead
📏 Distance: ~3.5 miles (loop)
⛰️ Elevation Gain: ~400 ft – mild incline, mostly gentle terrain
🕓 Pace: Relaxed – with plenty of breaks for decompression, training, and enjoying the scenery
🐕 Dog-Friendly? Yes – dogs are welcome on leash. Trails can have light-to-moderate traffic, so we’ll practice polite leash skills and space management.
Expect golden meadows, iconic Flatiron views, and a supportive group who understands the unique joys and challenges of hiking with reactive dogs.

Pack Hike Guidelines
For a safe and respectful hike for everyone:
🦮 Leashes required – 6 ft non-retractable preferred for control on narrow sections
🤝 No on-leash greetings unless clearly agreed upon
💩 Pick up after your pup – please bring your own waste bags
🚸 Children must not approach dogs unless invited by the handler
🧠 Give all dogs space – especially those who are working through reactivity or anxiety
💬 Always ask before approaching or petting any dog
❤️ Show up with patience, kindness, and zero judgment – we’re all here to support each other
🎒 Bring water for you and your pup, treats, and appropriate trail gear (harness, boots, etc.)
